Monday, July 9th, 2007

Just recently, the new website for the Stoneleigh Hotel went live.  The new site is a great resource for insider information on all of the renovation projects currently underway.  Plus, there’s a large amount of photos and renderings available to give you a better idea of what to expect when the hotel re-opens this Fall.

Another feature of the new Stoneleigh that will soon be unveiled are its new “tribute rooms”. These rooms will stand out from the other new guestrooms in that they will feature authentic memorabilia from famous tenants of the Stoneleigh’s past. For example, there will be one room dedicated to Margo Jones, a famous pioneer of Texas theater, and another room paying homage to the famous actress & singer, Judy Garland. Stay tuned for more details on additional tribute rooms in development.

A Look Inside the Penthouse

Thursday, June 28th, 2007

Check out the new renderings of what the new Stoneleigh Penthouse is going to look like. The newly-redesigned Penthouse will be undertaken by Carleton Varney, who is the protége to the original designer, Dorothy Draper. The penthouse is being completely re-designed and sectioned off into four private rooms known as the presidential, bridal, corporate and terrace suites. Also, there will be three sections known as the drawing room, dining room, and gallery which will be used as public event spaces.

These images were on display Tuesday night at Nick & Sam’s Steakhouse, across the street from the hotel, during a special event where previous guests of the Stonleigh and soon-to-be-residents at the Tower Residences were able to meet all of the key players bringing these projects together.

The first image is a glance inside the master bedroom of the presidential suite, while the second image is a preview of the new terrace suite.

Stoneleigh Hotel Construction Update

Friday, June 8th, 2007

Next week, I’m taking a sneak peak at the ongoing renovations to the Stoneleigh Hotel, which just opened its 10th floor showroom, displayed in the first photo below. Also, I caught word that construction on the restaurant, outdoor patio, bar and lobby is wrapping up. I’ll try to take some photos and videos next week, and I’ll show them off here on the blog.  But for now, digital renderings of the soon-to-be finished product will have to do. Not that I’m complaining, the photo-realism on these is pretty stunning.

Jeff Trigger and La Corsha Hospitality

Wednesday, May 9th, 2007

Jeff Trigger of La Corsha

As the Stoneleigh presses along with all of its new renovations and development, the question begs to be asked: “who’s at the helm of all this ongoing development?”  Well, it’s safe to say that the Stoneleigh is in good hands with Jeff Trigger, founder of La Corsha Hospitality Group, at the wheel.

No stranger to Dallas, Trigger’s extensive hotel management experience includes serving as a managing director for the repositioning and renovation for the Adolphus and the Mansion on Turtle Creek, both city landmarks of their own.  As well, Trigger was in charge of a $30 million dollar restoration of the Driskill Hotel in downtown Austin, an extensive refurbishment that brought the hotel to its esteemed four-diamond status.

At the Stoneleigh, Trigger and his team will be overseeing big changes that are to include an extensive restoration and renovation to lobby areas, rooms, public spaces, the restaurant/bar, and spa facilities.  As well, Trigger’s company La Corsha will be integrating a complete modernization of the infrastructure of the hotel, including “back-of-house” areas.

The professionalism, attention-to-detail, and great record of success make La Corsha the ideal option for the Stoneleigh.  As well, Jud Pankey, the president of Prescott Realty Group, the realty company behind the Stoneleigh, is proud to have Trigger on the project.  As he puts it,” Jeff’s reputation as one of the leading Hoteliers in the nation, coupled with his hands-on experience in transforming both The Driskill Hotel and The Adolphus Hotel from tired old hotels to dynamic new properties — while retaining their unique and historic charm — makes him the perfect partner for guiding us in the dramatic redevelopment of The Stoneleigh Hotel in Dallas.”
